The <\/span><strong class=\"qwen-markdown-strong\"><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\">Orthodox church<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\"> stands on a hill overlooking the sea, and nearby there is a <\/span><strong class=\"qwen-markdown-strong\"><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\">healing source<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\">, which since ancient times has given pure drinking water.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"qwen-markdown-space\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"qwen-markdown-paragraph\"><strong class=\"qwen-markdown-strong\"><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\">History and Renovation<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"qwen-markdown-space\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"qwen-markdown-paragraph\"><strong class=\"qwen-markdown-strong\"><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\">Alanya Church of Saint George<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\"> \u2014 According to legend, <\/span><strong class=\"qwen-markdown-strong\"><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\">Saint George<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\"> protected the village from robbers who threatened the locals. The <\/span><strong class=\"qwen-markdown-strong\"><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\">Church of Saint George the Victorious in Alanya<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\"> was built in the <\/span><strong class=\"qwen-markdown-strong\"><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\">8th century<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\">, and from the <\/span><strong class=\"qwen-markdown-strong\"><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\">13th century<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\"> a male monastery was erected nearby. In <\/span><strong class=\"qwen-markdown-strong\"><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\">1873<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\"> the church was completed. But for a long time it was in a deserted state. And only in <\/span><strong class=\"qwen-markdown-strong\"><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\">2015<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\"> was the reconstruction of the temple carried out. After that, it literally came to life. Now cultural events and <\/span><strong class=\"qwen-markdown-strong\"><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\">worship<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"qwen-markdown-text\"> are held here by Christians.
